Youth orchestra to debut its New Year's Concert in Guangzhou
As the New Year approaches, a series of performances are being staged in major theaters across Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Symphony Youth Orchestra (GSYO) will present the "2025 New Year Concert" on the evening of December 22nd (Sunday) at the Xinghai Concert Hall.
The concert will be conducted by Jing Huan, one of China's top ten young conductors. In the first half of the concert, there will be performances of outstanding Chinese works such as "Festive Overture," "Bolt Thunder in Drought," "The Grand Mansion Gate," "Song of Harvest," and "Dance of the Golden Snake," wishing the audience a peaceful and auspicious Year of Snake in 2025.
GSYO will collaborate with Hong Kong's young violinist Su Qianxun to present "Carmen Fantasy" in the second half. Additionally, "Die Fledermaus" (German) and "Pines of Rome" will also be performed.
GSYO has performed in renowned international concert halls such as the Sydney Town Hall, the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall in Singapore, and the Théatre antique de Lyon, France.
