The Former Residence of Zheng Guanying
Located at No.6 Xishang Erxiang, Yongmo Village, Sanxiang Town, Zhongshan City, this former residence was originally the ancestral home of Zheng Guanying and was built during the Qing Dynasty. In 1903, the residence was reconstructed by Zheng Guanying and his brothers to commemorate their father, Zheng Qihua. The house is a courtyard-style building facing south with a total area of approximately 305㎡. It has a frontage of 15.38 meters and a depth of 19.7 meters. The entrance is located on the west side of the courtyard. The main structure consists of three rooms and two courtyards, with an east-side extension. The building is made of brick and wood, with a hard gable roof, blue brick walls, and granite foundations. The front courtyard features two side rooms, with a stone plaque above the main gate inscribed in regular script with the words "Xiufeng Jiasu" (秀峰家塾), meaning "Xiufeng Family School." The plaque is dated "Rebuilt in the 29th year of the Guangxu reign, in the month of spring." The rear courtyard features a grey sculpted ridge, and the interior contains a main hall and side rooms. The main hall is adorned with gilded wood carvings and a religious altar. The east-side extension houses a kitchen, water well, and firewood storage. Rain shelters are built on both sides of the front and rear courtyards.
In 2000, the residence was designated as a cultural relic protection unit by Zhongshan City, and in 2008, it was listed as a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relic Protection Unit.
